“Knife Threat Lockdown at Wales School Deemed False Alarm”

Date:

A threat of individuals armed with “knives” caused a lockdown at a primary school in Wales. Dafen CP School in Llanelli took the precautionary measure on Monday due to threatening online messages. Police responded with “safeguarding action” and confirmed a “critical incident” at the school. Law enforcement maintained a significant presence on-site during the day.

According to a spokesperson from Dyfed-Powys Police, the threat targeting Dafen CP School indicated the presence of knife-wielding individuals on Monday. The report, received online and passed to authorities at 2:30 am, prompted the deployment of numerous police units, including firearms, dog, and neighborhood policing teams to assess the threat’s credibility.

After thorough investigation by specialized units, it was determined that the threat originated from a single anonymous source without corroborating details. Law enforcement assured that the risk had dissipated, leading to the conclusion of the investigation. Residents in the vicinity of the school, as well as other schools in Llanelli, are not believed to be at risk.

While specific details of the threat remain undisclosed, Superintendent Chris Neve acknowledged the community’s concerns and apologized for the delayed information release. Police presence will remain heightened at Dafen CP School and surrounding areas to offer ongoing reassurance to the community.
