Brave Nottingham Forest Fan Thwarts Train Attacker

Date:

Stephen Crean, a courageous individual who intervened to protect passengers from a train attacker, humbly downplays his actions, saying he simply did what anyone else would have done. The incident took place on a train journey towards Huntingdon station, where Stephen, a Nottingham Forest supporter returning from a match, found himself in the midst of a mass stabbing. Upon hearing panicked passengers alerting others about a man wielding a knife, Stephen found himself face to face with the attacker. Despite sustaining severe injuries to his hands, lower back, and buttock while disarming the assailant, Stephen managed to escape to a vacant train restroom to tend to his wounds before the train was rerouted to Huntingdon station.

Following the attack, Stephen received medical attention for his injuries, including stitches and bandages on his head and hands. Despite his ordeal, Stephen remains modest about his actions, emphasizing that there are others who may need assistance more than he does. He declined the offer by Reds owner Evangelos Marinakis to cover his medical expenses, expressing his desire for the support to go to those in greater need. Though he will miss upcoming Forest games due to his recovery, Stephen remains resolute in his dedication to the team and plans to return to supporting them once he has healed.

Meanwhile, Anthony Williams, a 32-year-old from Peterborough, faces multiple charges, including attempted murder and possession of a bladed article, in connection with the attack. The incident left eleven individuals hospitalized, with two still in critical condition. Despite the harrowing experience, Stephen remains unwavering in his commitment to his recovery and to continuing his support for Nottingham Forest.
