Eastern Airways, a UK domestic airline, has ceased operations and canceled all its flights. The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) confirmed that the regional airline, which served six UK airports, is currently not operating any flights and advised customers against going to the airport.
The airline’s destinations included Aberdeen, Humberside, London Gatwick, Newquay, Teesside International, and Wick. This decision follows the company’s submission of a notice of intent to appoint an administrator at the Insolvency and Companies Court, part of the High Court, on Monday.
Selina Chadha, the CAA’s consumer and markets director, emphasized that all Eastern Airways flights are canceled, urging affected passengers to check the CAA website for the latest updates and to make alternative travel arrangements through other airlines, trains, or coaches.
In response to the situation, London North Eastern Railway, ScotRail, TransPennine Express, and Northern are offering complimentary standard-class travel to Eastern Airways’ staff and customers on October 28 and 29. Passengers must provide an Eastern Airways employee ID, boarding pass, or flight confirmation to avail of this offer on eligible routes operated by each train company.
Eastern Airways, established in 1997, specialized in charter flights for various sports teams, including those in the Premier League and Championship clubs.
