“London Train Hero Confronts Knife-Wielding Attacker”

Date:

A passenger on a train in Huntingdon recounted a terrifying encounter with a knife-wielding assailant who repeatedly threatened him with death, leading to chaos on the journey. Stephen Crean, a London resident and a fan of Nottingham Forest, bravely approached the attacker during the mass stabbing incident that occurred after he boarded the train at Grantham on Saturday evening. According to Stephen, the situation escalated quickly as he witnessed panicked passengers running through the carriage warning about a man armed with a knife.

The tense confrontation unfolded when Stephen found himself face to face with the assailant, who menacingly waved the blade and menacingly asked him three times if he wanted to die. The incident left eleven passengers injured on the 6:25pm LNER train from Doncaster to London King’s Cross, prompting an emergency stop at Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire about an hour into the journey. Among the injured, four individuals were discharged from the hospital, while two, including a courageous train worker, remain in critical condition.

The suspect, 32-year-old Anthony Williams, appeared in Peterborough Magistrates’ Court facing charges of ten counts of attempted murder and one count of actual bodily harm related to the train attack. British Transport Police revealed an additional charge of attempted murder on London’s DLR network earlier that month. Williams, clad in a grey tracksuit and handcuffed to officers, was denied bail due to the severity of the charges and was scheduled to appear at Cambridge Crown Court on December 1, 2025. During the court proceedings, Williams remained silent on pleas and claimed to have no fixed address.
