Kirsty Gallacher disclosed that she was subjected to an unprovoked attack in London, describing it as being ‘kicked like a football.’ The assault occurred while she was walking to her car after work, a routine she follows most evenings. Recounting the incident on social media, the 49-year-old shared that despite the area being well-lit and with people around, she was targeted by an individual dressed in black who deliberately kicked her as she tried to avoid him.
Expressing her shock and displaying bruises from the incident, Gallacher emphasized that she was not behaving provocatively but simply going about her usual business. Fortunately, she had witnesses, including some helpful individuals who came to her aid, while a nearby security guard failed to intervene. Gallacher highlighted the unacceptable nature of the attack, indicating that it left her shaken and bewildered.
Having embarked on her broadcasting career with Sky Sports in the late 90s and later returning as a Sky Sports News presenter in 2011 for a seven-year period, Gallacher has also appeared on programs with other broadcasters such as ITV and Channel 4. She has ventured into radio broadcasting and currently hosts a drive time show on Gold Radio during weekdays from 4pm to 7pm.
Following Gallacher’s account of the assault, numerous messages of support poured in from various personalities in the industry, expressing sympathy and solidarity with her. The incident has sparked outrage and concern among her colleagues and peers, with many condemning the attack and offering words of comfort and encouragement to Gallacher.
