An 18-year-old individual has been taken into custody after an investigation into the killing of a 79-year-old man.
The elderly individual was attacked in Garforth, located in Leeds, at approximately 6:30 pm yesterday, as per information from the authorities. The West Yorkshire Police mentioned that the victim was transported to a medical facility where he was declared deceased.
Following the tragic incident, detectives initiated an inquiry into the murder and its surrounding circumstances. Those who witnessed the incident have been urged to get in touch with law enforcement.
In an official statement, the West Yorkshire Police revealed, “At 6:35 pm yesterday (29 October), the ambulance service alerted officers that a 79-year-old man had been assaulted. He was taken to the hospital where he was unfortunately pronounced dead.
“An 18-year-old suspect has been apprehended on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody. Investigators from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team are conducting thorough investigations.
